May 26, 2000, Jacques Cheminade "F.D.R. and Jean Monnet: The Battle Against British Imperial Methods Can Be Won" From the Proceedings of the International Conference Bad Schwalbach, Germany. One of the largely forgotten hero's of WW2, Monnet, an industrial banker in exile from Vichy France, was an important voice emphasizing to FDR, the need of the massive industrial output in order to fight against the Axis. After the war, his FDR style economic policy "indicative planning" based on David Lilienthal and his work in the TVA, helped DeGaulle rebuild and modernize France.
